MORT KÜNSTLER COVERED, VOLUME 1, the latest book in the Men’s Adventure Library series I co-edit with Wyatt Doyle, has just been released. It’s now available in softcover and deluxe hardcover editions from Amazon, or directly from me via my MensPulpMags.com bookstore.
MORT KÜNSTLER COVERED, VOL. 1 is the first in a new series of art books that will ultimately showcase all of the men’s adventure magazine covers featuring artwork by the famed illustration artist Mort Künstler (1927–2025). This volume includes his covers for ACTION FOR MEN, ACTION LIFE, ADVENTURE, ADVENTURE LIFE, BATTLEFIELD, and FOR MEN ONLY. The book also includes a historic interview I did with Mort in 2011. This comprehensive conversation was one of the very few occasions on which Mort spoke at length about his years creating illustrations for men’s adventure magazines.
