This is the softcover edition of MORT KÜNSTLER COVERED, VOLUME 1, the first book in a new series that will ultimately showcase all of the men’s adventure magazine covers featuring artwork by famed illustration artist Mort Künstler (1927–2025). VOLUME 1 includes his covers for ACTION FOR MEN, ACTION LIFE, ADVENTURE, ADVENTURE LIFE, BATTLEFIELD, and FOR MEN ONLY.

The book also includes a historic interview with Mort conducted in 2011 by co-editor Robert Deis. This comprehensive conversation was one of the very few occasions on which Mort spoke at length about his years creating illustrations for men’s adventure magazines.

MORT KÜNSTLER COVERED, VOLUME 1 is available in both softcover and deluxe hardcover editions, both 8.5″ x 11″ and in full color. The deluxe hardcover features 20 additional pages of Künstler covers.
